More than 800 area residents visited W.W. Knight Nature Preserve in Perrysburg Township January 13 to 15 for the Wood County Park District’s annual Wild Lights display.
Groups, families and organizations decorated and lit up 10 stations along one the preserve’s trails. The park district provided lifesized 3D animal statues for participants to use in their decorating schemes, transforming the woodlands into a magical twinkling forest for visitors to explore at dusk and early evening.
Prizes, courtesy of the Friends of the Wood County Park District, were awarded for the “most inspired” stations. Visitors had the opportunity to warm up after a brisk walk along the trail in the nature center, where the Friends served hot chocolate and cookies.
They also hosted family-friendly activities and offered photo opportunities against a winter backdrop.
