Giving Tuesday, November 29, is a global day of giving and supporting nonprofits that are meaningful to donors. This year, Nature’s Nursery is taking Giving Tuesday On The Go.

Like many other charities, Giving Tuesday is the single biggest day of donations for Nature’s Nursery Center For Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation.

This year, the organization has partnered with three area businesses to bring more opportunities for the community to come learn about the mission, support the cause and meet some animals.

“We were really hoping to be moved into our new facility before the holiday season but with the building construction just now nearing completion it just isn’t ready for guests yet,” said Allison Aey, Nature’s Nursery executive director. “We decided, if they can’t come to us, we will come to them.”

Thanks to the support and partnership of local businesses, people can find Nature’s Nursery, and a few of their education ambassadors, around town all day on Giving Tuesday.

“We are at 94 percent of our new building funding goal and hope to close out the campaign by year end. Giving Tuesday On The Go lets us spend the day sharing our mission around town and encouraging a convenient way to support our cause in person.”

Throughout the day, Nature’s Nursery will be hosting live animal videos on social media, sharing photos of the new building and collecting monetary and supply donations “On The Go” at the following locations and times:

•Woodland Custom Homes, 2892 North Reynolds Road. Meet the animals from 8 to 10 a.m., or donate anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

•Wild Birds Unlimited, 5236 Monroe Street. Meet the animals from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., or donate anytime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

•Downtown Johnny’s, 513 Jefferson Avenue. Meet the animals from 4 to 6 p.m., or donate anytime between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Supplies requested include paper towels, cleaning supplies, wet and dry cat food, baby food (not formula), mulch pet bedding, receiving blankets and gift cards to grocery stores.
