Mercy Health Perrysburg Hospital has expanded its offerings to include a state-of-theart cardiac cath lab. On November 19, the hospital held a ribbon cutting and blessing of the new lab followed by a tree lighting ceremony to kick off the holiday season.

“We have a lot to celebrate in Perrysburg,” said Andrea Gwyn, president of Mercy Health Perrysburg. “We are excited to kick off the holiday season and celebrate the opening of our new cardiac cath lab, which is part of our commitment to bringing the most advanced care options to people where they live and work.”

The cardiac catheterization lab is a specialized area used for minimally invasive tests and advanced cardiac procedures. During a catheterization, a long, thin flexible tube is inserted in a blood vessel and threaded to the heart, allowing specialists to perform various tests and treatments.

Following the blessing, visitors toured the lab, enjoyed refreshments and visited with Santa Claus.

Mercy Healthy Perrysburg opened in 2019 and features a full range of health care services including comprehensive services such as surgery, critical care, on-site lab, imaging and diagnostic services, a comprehensive cancer center and 24/7 emergency room.
