Planning for this year’s Halloween parade in Rossford is under way, and the community is invited to participate.

It will take place at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 30 with a theme of “Movie Villains!”

The parade is being coordinated this fall by a committee of volunteers, led by Toby Ledesma, city parks and recreation director. Committee members are Kathy Shelt, Rossford City Council member Brenna Reynolds, Judy Sikorski, Lauren Kuhr, Marty Kralik and Kelly Walters. The parade is sponsored by the City of Rossford and Rossford Business Association.

Residents of the Rossford School District, businesses, schools, clubs, organizations, churches, families and individuals are encouraged to walk or ride in costume. No political endorsements or units are allowed in the parade.

Registration forms are available at the Rossford Community Recreation Center, Rossford Public Library and municipal building. An online registration form is available at the website rossfordrecreation.com.

Sponsorships also are being sought from businesses to fund the cost of large units in the parade and to provide prizes for costume contest and float winners, Mr. Ledesma said. See the website for sponsorship information.

The parade route remains the same, beginning at Veterans Memorial Park at the end of Hannum Avenue. It will proceed up Hannum, turn right at Hoffman Road, left on Jennings Road, left on Eagle Point Road, left on Superior Street and end near the Rossford Community Recreation Center.
