The Wood County sheriff ’s office is increasing patrols through Wednesday, August 31 as part of the national campaign, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”

Deputies will be looking for violations such as driving under the influence, failure to yield and speeding. “All of these are leading factors in fatal crashes,” explained Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn. “There will be zero tolerance for driving under the influence and seat belt violations.”

The sheriff’s department is conducting the blitz campaign with grant funds from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.
