Police Chief Todd Kitzler has commended two officers for their service to the public during two recent incidents.
The sheriff’s office 9-1-1 dispatcher received a phone call from a motorist who interacted with Officer Keon Domanski during a July 2 traffic stop.
“The driver wanted to express his appreciation for the manner in which you handled yourself,” the chief noted.
“He described the experience as ‘very pleasant and a big difference from what he is used to.’”
Chief Kitzler noted it is rare for the department to receive compliments from motorists.
“Your efforts in this case go a long way in maintaining our trust and legitimacy with the community,” he said.
Chief Kitzler also praised the efforts of Officer Trey Farabee who was called July 4 to find an elderly man with dementia who had wandered away from his apartment.
Officer Farabee met with the man’s wife and was able to locate him a short time later, safely returning him home.
“The compassion and professionalism you displayed during this call was unmatched and reflects the mission and core values of our department,” the chief said.
