The Northwestern Water and Sewer District’s annual hydrant flushing process is under way.

Hydrant flushing consists of opening approximately 4,000 hydrants throughout our five-county service area for maintenance, according to Theresa Pollick, spokeswoman for NWSD.

The maintenance generally takes seven to eight months to complete and is expected to finish in November.
