Three Rossford High School seniors were recently recognized in the Student of the Month program through the Maumee Elks.
Honored students were Elizabeth Spears, Ashton Steele and Xavier Stiles.
They attended a luncheon at the Elks on March 3 along with students from area high schools.
Elizabeth is the daughter of Samantha Spears of Perrysburg.
With a 4.0 GPA, she is a member of the National Honor Society and has been part of the RHS Band, including serving as a section leader and a member of the jazz band.
She is president of the Book Club and lead sound designer for the Drama Club.
Elizabeth has been recognized with several Promethean awards in academics as well as Superior ratings for solo/ensemble competition.
Her volunteer experience includes summer productions with Rossford Drama and the formal dress resale project.
She is currently working as a technical media producer for WTVG TV-13.
Elizabeth plans to attend Bowling Green State University to study computer science.
Ashton is the daughter of Monica Steele of Rossford. She carries a 4.1 GPA. Ashton is a member of Link Crew, National Honor Society and has been part of the DECA program at Rossford for the past two years, advancing last year to the national competition.
She has been recognized with a Promethean award for excellence in accounting.
Ashton has been involved in competitive dance throughout her high school years and participated in broomball for four years.
Ashton’s volunteer experience includes working as a dance instructor and interning in an attorney’s office. She currently works in an area bakery.
Ashton plans to attend the University of South Dakota to study accounting and hopes to become a lawyer or serve in the legislature.
Xavier is the son of Jenna Stiles of Toledo. He carries a 4.3 GPA and is a member of National Honor Society, student council, Link Crew, academic team, speech and debate team, SOS Club, international club, mixed glee and newspaper.
He has been recognized with many Promethean awards for academics, is a National Merit Commended Scholar, and is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, earning the Order of the Arrow.
He has volunteered as a peer tutor and has worked as a camp counselor at Camp Frontier.
Xavier plans to attend Columbia University to major in physics.
