As of presstime December 14, the following COVID-19 numbers were released by the Wood County Health Department:
•20,837 cases since March 2020–an increase of 499 in the past week.
In the past two weeks, there were 789 active cases, including 261 in Perrysburg, 153 in Bowling Green, 61 in Northwood, 56 in Rossford, 40 in Walbridge and 16 in Millbury.
•285 deaths (two more since last week) and 924 hospitalizations (20 more since last week).
According to the Ohio Department of Health, 6,876,081 Ohioans have received at least the first round of the COVID-19 vaccine, which equals 58.82 percent of the entire population.
67.09 percent of Ohioans age 12 and older have been vaccinated, and 69.22 percent of Ohioans age 18 and older have been vaccinated.
In Wood County, 80,169 people, or 61.28 percent of the population, have been vaccinated with at least the first dose.
In Lucas County, there have been 245,891 people, or 57.39 percent, vaccinated with at least the first dose.
