On Monday, June 28, TARTA is bringing back hours of bus service to pre-COVID schedules.
With the change in hours, transit officials also announced that Call-A-Ride will return to Rossford.
“As Ohio’s COVID-19 health restrictions were lifted and more northwest Ohio residents return to normal activities, TARTA is responding,” said Laura Koprowski, deputy chief executive officer.
All TARTA services will continue to operate at no charge to customers, she noted. For fixed route bus service, she said,
For fixed route bus service, she said, weekday service from the downtown Toledo transit hub will operate from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday service will run from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with expanded hours of service to 9:30 p.m. on Routes 2C, 5C, 12, 19, 31C and 14, which stops at Hollywood Casino via Main/East Broadway.
All routes will now run every 30 or 60 minutes, which Ms. Koprowski said is an improvement from the 90 minute cycle during the pandemic.
The Toledo Area Regional Paratransit Service (TARPS) for disabled riders on weekdays will begin at 4:55 a.m. and run until 9:40 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday service is expanded to 7:50 a.m. to 10:20 p.m. TARTA’s on-demand Call-A-Ride service
TARTA’s on-demand Call-A-Ride service is returning to Rossford and continues to be available in Maumee, Ottawa Hills, Sylvania, Sylvania Township and Waterville.
In August 2020, transit leaders discontinued Call-A-Ride in Rossford due to low ridership caused by the pandemic.
As of next week, Call-A-Ride service will be available Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Ms. Koprowski said.
This service transports riders within their own community or to connect with fixedline bus routes.
Customers need to reserve their rides by 3 p.m. the day before by calling 419-243-7433 and pressing option 2. Multiple trips are allowed pending availability.
As required by federal law, all passengers must wear a mask, and TARTA provides complimentary masks if needed.
