“COVID left many of us feeling isolated, and St. Timothy’s wanted to bring our community back together for some fun,” according to Ruth Hancock. “This July we are inviting everyone to participate in family activities on the front lawn of the church—everything from a movie to gardening, senior exercise and kids’ activities.
St. Timothy’s front lawn looks well-suited for the summer with large maple trees to give shade to participants.
The first offering is a movie night with the film “The Sandlot,” a comedy about a group of young baseball players during the summer of 1962. The movie will be shown Friday, July 2, starting at 8:30 p.m.
Next on Saturday, July 10, at 10 a.m., is a sensational succulents class. “Succulents are so popular now that we wanted to have a class, so people could create their own container,” Ms. Hancock explained. “Composting is a great help to the environment as well as your plants, so St. Tim’s is having a class on that too, July 17.” That class also is at 10 a.m.
COVID not only left many people feeling isolated, but also with a few more pounds. A SilverSneakers class with instructor Sheila Brown is scheduled on Tuesday, July 20, at 8:45 a.m.
The last class, for caregivers and their pre-school age children, is wee movement, on Wednesday, July 28, at 10 a.m.
Participants in sensational succulents and SilverSneakers must pre-register. Movie night, composting 101 and wee movement classes are free. The succulents class has a fee of $10 and SilverSneakers will be $5 for non-members. Fees may be paid at time of activity.
