The children’s summer reading club at the Rossford Public Library returns this year with a theme of “Tails & Tales” and features all types of animals.

All in-person programming will be held outdoors with the option to pick up materials and follow along at home as well, said Kris Goldsmith, assistant director of the library.

Reading records will be available online but reading reports will be taken in person as well, she added.

Registration is required for all in-person activities.

The first day to sign up to record time spent reading will be Monday, June 7.

The schedule of activities includes:

1-2-3 Read! (1-3 year olds)

Wednesdays at 10 a.m. on the library lawn, June 9 to July 28

Storytime (4-6 year olds)

Mondays at 6 p.m. on the library lawn, June 7 to July 26

Participants should bring a blanket or mat.

Those wishing to view these programs at home can find recorded versions on the library’s YouTube channel or on Facebook each Monday.

Hands on Books (7-11 year olds)

Mondays at 1 p.m. on the library lawn

How-to sessions also will be pre-recorded and available to follow along at home on our YouTube channel and Facebook page.

In the case of inclement weather, in-person activities will be canceled and all reserved kits may be picked up to do at home.

July 19–Pet Paw Print Keepsake. Participants should pick up a paw print kit the week prior and stamp their pets’ paw prior to arriving to paint it at the library if they are planning on participating in person.

Registration is required for all weekly activities. and should indicate whether children will be participating in person or online.
