Excitement was especially high this spring for the return of the Toledo Mud Hens to Fifth Third Field, after last season was canceled due to the pandemic, and the team had not played there in 600 days.

Rossford resident Bill Heban explained that the team name of “Mud Hens” has a long history dating back to the late 1800s, when the original Toledo baseball squad played at Bay View Park.
