Ohio Senate bill addresses state’s mental health crisis

On June 28, the Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 60, legislation sponsored by State Senator Theresa Gavarone, which will create a new occupation to address the mental health crisis in Ohio.SB 60 will establish a new licensed healthcare professional called a certified mental health assistant (CMHA).

The Wood County sheriff’s office is conducting increased patrols through Sunday, July 7, using grant funding from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.

Turnpike commission reminds drivers to go slow through tolls

During the busy summer travel season and throughout the year, the Ohio Turnpike commission reminds motorists to stay safe by slowing down and following the posted 10 mph speed limit when driving through toll booth lanes.

WCCOA offers cholesterol screenings in Bowling Green and Perrysburg

The Wood County Committee on Aging, Inc. is scheduling cholesterol screening clinics for July.To register, participants must be a resident of Wood County and 25 years of age or older. The cost is $20 for those 60 and older and $25 for residents 25 through 59.
