Penta seeks outstanding alumni nominees

Penta Career Center, a career-technical educational facility for high school and adult students since 1965, is searching for individuals for its annual Outstanding Alumni Awards.Since its inception in 1993, these awards have been presented to 183 Penta alumni.

MacQueen Orchards annual apple butter festival is October 5 and 6

MacQueen Orchard’s Farm Market will host its annual apple butter festival Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.While cooking in a giant copper kettle over an open fire, fresh, warm apple butter will be available to purchase and sample.

Township board of zoning appeals approves parking space variance

At the August 20 meeting, the Perrysburg Township board of zoning appeals approved a request for a reduction in parking spaces.Toth & Associates on behalf of Brew Team OH, LLC and Kohl’s requested the variance for property on the south side of Fremont Pike between Oakmead Drive and Simmons Road.

Wildlife refuge hosting monarch butterfly migration event in Sept.

Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and Friends of Ottawa NWR are hosting a month-long migration-athon virtual challenge in September.Participants can come together and walk, hike, run, swim, paddle or bike throughout the community.

Hockey benefit to be held for firefighter with cancer

On Saturday, September 7, at 6 p.m., Tam-OShanter will host a hockey benefit game between the Toledo Fire Firefighters and Wood County Fraternal Order of Police.All proceeds from the event will be donated to Troy Bernhard, a long-time firefighter/paramedic with Perrysburg Township.
