The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) welcomed Zachary Schmidt as the City of Rossford’s representative on its board of trustees.“I grew up riding TARTA buses with my grandma and brother, my mom and friends downtown. It’s a part of who I am,” said Schmidt.

The Wood Soil and Water Conservation District is offering a fingerling fish sale for pond owners to stock their ponds. Fish species include: bluegill, hybrid bluegill, redear shellcracker, channel catfish, Largemouth Bass, perch, fathead minnows and Triploid White Amur.

The KidsLinked First Annual Toledo-Rossford Children’s Festival, presented by Once Upon a Child, is Saturday, May 3, at the TOCA Sports Center, 10020 South Compass Drive, Rossford. The event is from 1 to 3 p.m., for general entry, with a noon to 1 p.m., VIP entry available.

Rossford celebrates Arbor Day, honors local gardener

For more than 27 years, Rossford has been named a Tree City USA. As part of this, the city’s tree commission holds a tree planting ceremony each year on Arbor Day.This year, the tree commission planted a “summer fun” variety of the Cornus kousa tree near city hall.
