Friends of Wood County Parks host annual native plant sale at fairgrounds

Thousands of plants native to northwest Ohio were available for sale on May 12 and 13 at the Friends of the Wood County Park District annual plant sale. For more than 20 years, the Friends have conducted the sale, but over the past few years it has grown significantly, said Caroline Weis, Friends president, adding she is amazed by the number of people who are investing in native plants for their yards.

Toledo Humane Society hosting summer camps

The Toledo Humane Society is holding multiple summer camps for teens and children this summer. Teens ages 12 through 16 can register today for the Dog Training Workshop and the Animal Careers and Pre-Vet Workshop.

RHS seniors named Penta outstanding students

The 58th senior class at Penta Career Center was honored May 16, 17 and 18 during senior recognition ceremonies on the Perrysburg Township campus. This year, three Rossford High School students attending Penta were among 50 seniors recognized as outstanding students based on performance and excellence in their respective career-technical education programs.

Free concert series at Wood County Museum

The Wood County Museum is hosting a free concert series, starting on June 8. The first iteration of “Music at the Museum,” presented by Visit BG Ohio with support from Visit Perrysburg and Tucker Electrical Service LLC, will feature three live band performances on the east wing porch of the historic County Home building.

Ridis makes donation to Northwood VFW

As part of its yearly fund-raising campaign, Northwood Ridis chose Northwood VFW as their charity of choice to raise money from customers. Ridis corporate office matched up to $500 per location. Jake Przybysz of Northwood VFW, left, received a check for more than $2,500 from Terri Martin and Moe Ridi. This was the organization’s seventh annual fund-raising event. As a chain, Ridis presented $13,026.86 to nine local charities. Northwood VFW, 102 West Andrus Road, hosts a variety of programs and events for veterans and the community throughout the year.
