Northwest Ohio field report from Ohio Division of Wildlife

During the 2024-25 white-tailed deer hunting season, State Wildlife Officer Matt Smith, assigned to Huron County, received a Turn In a Poacher (TIP) report regarding an unlawfully harvested buck. Officer Smith determined that the buck was unlawfully game checked by someone other than the hunter.

NAMI offers free programs to address mental health

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wood County is a self-help organization offering free events, educational classes, support groups and other programs that address mental health for the Wood County community.

Wood County Museum to host author of WWII book

The Wood County Museum will host Ed Kruszynski for his talk about his book, “The Medic’s Wife,” on Tuesday, September 9, at 6 p.m., at the museum. Admission will be $7 per person, or free for museum members. The price includes the talk, with light refreshments and a tour of the museum’s exhibits.
