Perrysburg Twp. prepares for April 8 eclipse

For the benefit of area residents, businesses and the general public, Perrysburg Township is making plans in preparation for the solar eclipse on April 8. The township, like much of northwest Ohio is in the area of totality, which means for a few minutes on the afternoon of April 8, the skies will go completely dark.

Rossford recognized for financial reporting

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the City of Rossford with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The distinction was received in recognition of the city’s annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year which ended in December, of 2022.

Rossford Library Leap Day poetry contest winners

Rossford Public Library held a Leap Day poetry writing contest for teens ages 12 to 17 throughout the month of February. Teens were asked to write for the prompt: what would you do with the extra day Leap Day brings?

GLCAP water assistance program available

Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) is offering water utility assistance for residents of Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca and Wood County. The program, available now through March 31, aims to provide crucial support to income-eligible residents who are facing water shut-offs or disconnections. The program can also help residents establish new water service or pay for service transfers.

Artists club to offer painting workshop

Trisha Koelsch will offer a “Poppies are Popping” acrylic painting workshop on Saturday, March 16, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Toledo Artists’ Club, 5403 Elmer Drive. The class is open to artists of all levels and features step-by-step instructions by Ms.

Perrysburg Twp. food distribution

The Perrysburg Township food distribution will be held Thursday, March 14, from 8 to 10 a.m. The township fire department will sponsor the food give-away at the township building, 26609 Lime City Road, the second Thursday of each month.

Volunteers needed to help ‘free the trees’

Volunteers are needed to free trees from protective tubing in the restored wetland at Carter Historic Farm. The tubes protected 5,000 small trees when they were first planted and need to be removed to allow the trees to flourish.
