On August 16, a Wood County Grand Jury issued an indictment against Gilbert John Michael Hughes, 40, for the murder of a 2-year-old.
Mr. Hughes is already serving a prison term for felonious assault in the same matter. After he was convicted of the assault, the victim died, succumbing February 15, 2017, to the injuries she sustained at his hand.
