The Wood County Prevention Coalition recently was selected for Blue Ribbon distinction. In July, the coalition applied for Phase I of CADCA’s 2022 Got Outcomes! Awards. In Phase I, CADCA reviewed and scored applications along with various required submitted products including a community assessment, logic model and summary of outcomes.

The coalition then advanced to Phase II of the selection process which includes the top 25 percent of applicants. As an advancing finalist, the coalition created a visual story of how Wood County attained positive changes in community-level outcomes related to underage drinking. The coalition was recently notified of its distinction as a Blue Ribbon Coalition. The special recognition is given to coalitions who do an exceptional job creating a foundation for their work by updating and utilizing their products and achieving positive outcomes.

An awards event will be held in National Harbor, Maryland, in late January.

The Wood County Prevention Coalition has united for a drug-free community since 2004. Their vision is to help youth be drug-free, responsible and productive citizens.
