Three candidates have filed to campaign for two seats on the Rossford Board of Education this fall.

Last Wednesday, August 4 was the deadline at the Wood County Board of Elections for the November 2 election.

Incumbent school board members Dawn Burks of Jennison Drive and Jackie Huffman of Thompson Road filed, along with Joel Haas of West Elmtree Road.

Last week also was the filing deadline for candidates for Perrysburg Township trustee.

Gary Britten of Roachton Road and Bob Mack of Morningside Drive again will run unopposed for reelection.

Perrysburg Township fiscal officer Hannah Nelson of Glenwood Road will not face an opponent either.

Ms. Nelson was appointed to the position in June following the retirement of Shirley Haar.

The Board of Elections will certify the candidates at a meeting on Friday, August 13.

The deadline for Rossford City Council candidates to file is September 1.

Four council seats are open this fall, currently held by council members Bob Densic, Chris Heban, Jerry Staczek and Caroline Zuchowski-Eckel.

August 4 also was the deadline for issues to be placed on the November ballot.

All Wood County voters will see a five-year property tax levy for the Wood County Committee on Aging, which is a 0.7-mill renewal and 0.3-mill increase.

Rossford voters will decide on an issue for TARTA to add Lucas County as a member and replace the two property tax levies with a 0.5 percent, 10-year sales tax.

Voters in Rossford I precinct 893 will consider on a liquor sales option for Aldi, 9806 South Compass Drive, to sell alcohol between 10 a.m. and midnight Sundays.

Voters in Perrysburg Township Starbright precinct 653 will consider a liquor option for Ameristop, 28878 Starbright Boulevard, to sell alcohol between 10 a.m. and midnight Sundays.
