Sidewalk murals by local artist celebrate Rossford history

Sidewalk murals by local artist celebrate Rossford history
A number of the murals are a nod to the city’s cultural heritage and the Eastern European immigrants who came here to work and live. Those include a Slovak gymnastics team, below left, and a Ukrainian dance group, below right, in which Ms. Jardine’s grandmother participated.
The special events, cultural activities, businesses and churches woven through the history of Rossford are featured in a new series of sidewalk murals around the Edward Ford Memorial Park at the corner of Elm Street and Dixie Highway.
The 38 panels, unveiled at a news conference August 11, were created by Rossford native Caroline Jardine.
