Penta hosts fifth annual signing day event

On April 25 and 27, high school students planning to go to Penta Career Center this fall attended the fifth annual signing day. Hundreds of students signed letters of intent to enroll in career technical programs, donning official Penta baseball caps. Prior to signing the letters of intent, students and their parents had the opportunity to tour career technical labs where they met teachers and classmates. “This is a great night to celebrate students who are making the choice to be successful,” said Superintendent Ed Ewers. He noted that Penta’s enrollment has grown steadily. “We are excited to welcome them. They are part of a record breaking enrollment,” he added. The superintendent noted there are still some openings, particularly in seniors-only labs such as phlebotomy and industrial maintenance, both of which are offered at satellite sites in Holland and Bowling Green respectively. There also are openings in robotics and precision machining. He encourages interested students to visit pentacareer center.org for more information or to apply for admission. Penta serves 16 school districts in five counties.
