In other business, council:
•Approved a three-year extension of an agreement with the Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau to provide promotion and event coordination for the city.
In a related matter, council also authorized the submission of a grant application by the CVB to the Wood County Park District for improvements at Edward Ford Memorial Park, requesting up to $50,000.
•Approved the disposal of two utility trailers from the public works department as surplus property.
•Awarded a five-year contract to Meeder Investment Services of Dublin, Ohio, to assist the city with investing funds, at an annual cost of about $15,000.
•Approved a tax incremental financing (TIF) service agreement with Choice Properties developer for land at the corner of State Route 795 and Crossroads Parkway.
Kevin Heban, law director, told council that Choice will do $1.3 million of infrastructure work and then will be repaid by the city from TIF funds.
•Heard a complaint from Councilman Staczek about trash accumulating at houses on Bacon Street.
“The trash is getting worse–it’s piled up to the windowsills and laying in the yard. We’re getting more of it,” he said.
•Met in executive session to discuss economic development but did not take action afterward.
