The Northwestern Water and Sewer District announces the following project updates.

Through January, crews are working along Oregon Road, north of State Route 795, and in the Ampoint complex in Perrysburg Township for valve maintenance. Once this work is complete, through April, crews will be working in Rossford for valve maintenance.

The work involves turning valves on waterlines, which can occasionally cause water to become discolored. Residents are advised to flush their taps if this occurs.

Valve maintenance work will continue in various locations through December.

Other projects in Wood County include:

•Middleton and Center Townships: Sugar Ridge sewer installation. Through July, lane restrictions are possible on Sugar Ridge Road between I-75 and State Route 25, and along Mercer Road, north and south of Sugar Ridge Road for sewer installation. The $1.6 million project is expected to be completed in July.

•Perrysburg: Willowbend pump station and force main replacement. The $2.5 million project was expected to be completed in January. Additional paving work will take place in the spring.

•Perrysburg Township: Ford Road pump station replacement. Through February, Ford Road, between White Road and Lindsay Drive, is closed for sanitary sewer installation. Travelers should detour by using Simmons Road, SR795 and White Road. Additional construction traffic on Ford Road between White Road and Lindsey Road will continue through April for pump station replacement and relocation. The $7.7 million project is expected to be completed in April.

The District delivers water and sewer services to more than 20,000 customers in Wood, Henry, Sandusky, and Hancock counties.
