The Ohio State University Extension Office in Bowling Green will offer the Million Hearts series of classes. The next sessions are set for January 24 and 31, and February 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. The program is free for Wood County residents.

Million Hearts is a national initiative to prevent heart attacks and strokes. It brings together communities, health systems, nonprofit organizations, federal agencies and private-sector partners from throughout the country to fight heart disease and stroke.

The class discussion includes heart disease, improving cardiovascular health, recipes and how to cope with stress. Participants will have the opportunity to taste heart health food from the class.

Classes will cover the following ABCSs: aspirin for high risk patients, blood pressure control, cholesterol management, smoking cessation and stress reduction.
