Before the end of the school year, Rossford kindergarten teacher Jen Yoder’s class enjoyed a unit where they learned the parts of plants and what is needed to grow.

Students kept a writing journal where they had to write how the “Grasshead” changed each day, since their cups had faces on them, she explained.

“When the ‘hair’ of the Grasshead grew too long, they had to give it a haircut,” she added.
