Costs for next year’s improvement project of Jennings Road recently was discussed by the finance committee.
Councilman Bob Densic noted the city will sell bonds of $1,156,000, but engineering fees will subtract $235,000 from that total.
Also, city officials have decided to no longer place assessments on property owners for street projects.
“This will only leave annual capital funding or another bond or anticipation note,” Mr. Densic said.
The project schedule and estimated budget has not been set, and the committee recommended the public works committee discuss the issue further.
The finance committee also discussed the draft of a request for proposals to be sent out for design/build services of improvements at Veterans Memorial Park and the marina. The city has received $300,000 of state funding for the project, which Councilman Densic said must be spent by June 30, 2022.
In another issue, the committee was updated on the transition of the new finance director, Kelly O’Boyle.
“Kelly has been working to catch up on past financial information, make corrections as needed and creating all required reporting documents,” Councilman Densic said.
She is revising and clarifying the monthly financial information presented to the committee and hopes to have the work completed by the end of the month, he added.
