After speaking with CSX corporate communications last week about lengthy train delays through town, Rossford city leaders believe motorists should soon gain some relief.
Mayor Neil MacKinnon III said he and Police Chief Todd Kitzler were informed that “the CSX operations department was notified to ensure that trains are cut if there is an extended time period on a blocked crossing.”
CSX officials also suggested the city partner with the railroad on obtaining grant dollars available this year for an underpass or overpass at problem crossings.
“The city will be working with CSX to try to obtain funding for a grade separation to eliminate any issues getting north or southbound across the tracks within Rossford,” Mayor MacKinnon said.
