The American Red Cross is seeking blood donors to help prevent a seasonal blood shortage. Platelet donors are especially needed now. All who schedule to donate during August will automatically be entered for a chance to win gas for a year, a $6,000 value. There will be three winners. Everyone who donates blood or platelets in August also will receive a $10 e-gift card to a merchant of choice. Details are available at rcblood.org/fuel. Appointments can be scheduled to donate blood at the Red Cross Toledo Blood Donation Center, 3510 Executive Parkway, Toledo.
