David B. Picott, age 61, of Rossford, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 17, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 2, 1962, to Donald and Rose Marie (Zywocki) Picott in Toledo.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley and Mary Zywocki, Maurice and Elnora Picott, and his uncle and aunt, Daniel and Christine Zywocki. Left to cherish David’s memory are his loving wife, Lynn Picott; daughters, Amanda Pinardo and Jordan Pinardo, son, Drew Pinardo (Sophia); grandson, Wyatt Pinardo, mother, Rose Marie Picott; brother, Doug Picott (Megan), and nephew and niece, Alan Picott and Sara Picott. He was loved by so many other family members, friends and co-workers.

Dave was an interesting individual with a rich and fulfilling life. He worked as a highly skilled machinist for nearly four decades at Exco Engineering in Toledo. He loved his job and always hoped to return to it.

Aside from his love for his family and spending time with them, he enjoyed fishing, camping, anything weather related (he was unofficially dubbed Doppler Dave), being a licensed ham radio operator and a certified storm tracker. His collection of ham radios and barometers was second to none.

His great sense of humor was a source of joy for everyone who knew him, and he was a friend to all and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He will be missed tremendously by his family and friends, and his passing has left a huge void.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Dave’s family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Kasunic and NP Danielle Goodell for their loving care of him over the past five years.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 29, from 10 a.m. to noon, with funeral services starting at noon, at Newcomer-Northwest Toledo Chapel, 4150 West Lakey Road, Toledo.
