Lary R. Barker, age 79, of Rossford, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on December 27, 1937, in Toledo, to Lowell and Doris (Dryer) Barker. Lary was a 1956 graduate of the former Holland High School. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. After he was discharged, he worked as an auto mechanic until 1970 when he took a job at Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Co. in Rossford, where he worked for 26 years. He then worked with his wife in real estate for 20 years. Lary enjoyed cars, mechanics, attending car races with his son, Michael, and selling real estate. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Gay “Hinkle” Barker; children, Michelle (William Yglasias), Melody (Todd) Hill, Michael (Ann) Barker and Marcy (Ryan) Griffin; grandchildren, Aaron and Miranda Gelb, Leah Hill, Morgan and Brodie Griffin and Lleyton Barker. Also surviving are his brother, Carlton (Sharon) Barker, and nieces and nephews. Lary was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends visited at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, Wednesday, December 6, from 2 to 7 p.m. Interment was private. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Cleveland Clinic and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
