Water/sewer bill hikes coming in new year

The Northwestern Water and Sewer District’s board of trustees last week announced that water/sewer rates will increase in January “to match the cost of service and repairing aging infrastructure. “

“Our customers fund our system through rates, this is one of the most important decisions our board makes on an annual basis.” NWSD board of trustees chairman Mark Sheffer said.

The average family of four using 6,000 gallons of water per month will see an additional charge of $1.47 by NWSD for water and an additional $2 on the sewer charge.
