School board sues city

District balks at sidewalks, road improvements for new school

The Rossford Board of Education has filed a lawsuit against the City of Rossford, protesting that zoning restrictions were holding up construction of the new Glenwood Elementary School.

The lawsuit, filed April 23 in Wood County Common Pleas Court, states that the school project is immune from the city’s land use restrictions.

“The school district has determined that the requested improvements are not necessary, in some respects, and not legally authorized expenditures for a school district, in other respects,” said Superintendent Dan Creps, in a statement issued last week.
