Retail no longer a focus for development
Wade Gottschalk remembers a time when a typical weekend included a trip to the local Blockbuster to rent three movies on videotape for $10.
“Now you can get Netflix for about $10 a month with unlimited movies,” the executive director of the Wood County Economic Development Commission said.
That change in spending by consumers is one of many unusual factors he contends with while working to improve the business climate in the county.
