Penta superintendent recognized by state
By Jane Maiolo
Penta Career Center Superintendent Ron Matter received special recognition at the school board’s December 13 meeting.
Kirk Hamilton, executive director of the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, presented the superintendent with the 2017 Exemplary Leader award.
Mr. Matter was nominated by a K-12 administrator to receive the award in this region of the state, he explained, noting that it is rare to have a vocational school administrator nominated, given the number of vocational institutions statewide compared to K-12 districts.
“You’ve got a special leader,” he said. “He’s passionate about doing what’s right for students.”
Mr. Hamilton continued, “Ron has opinions and will come to Columbus to share them [with legislators]. That voice not only represents Penta, but career centers across the state.”
