Construction of Penta on-campus roundabout to alter traffic flow
A smaller roundabout to be constructed at the inside entrance at Penta Career Center (see rendering) will result in traffic changes for visitors this summer.
At the February 7 Penta board meeting, Kevin Baker, operations supervisor, explained that during construction staff and visitors will enter the career center from the main drive, but will be diverted to the right, circling the campus to access the building’s front entrance.
Motorists will be unable to return via the Buck Road entry, but instead will leave using the emergency vehicle access road, explained Superintendent Ron Matter.
The access road, at the east end of the school, will place motorists on Lime City Road near the Buck Road intersection, he added.
Mr. Baker noted the roundabout is a smaller version of the Buck Road/main entrance one, but will be designed with modified curbs to allow large vehicles to navigate the road.
