Concerns about football players suffering concussions have captured the national spotlight, but changes in rules, equipment and fundamentals are helping to lower the risk to players and create a heightened awareness among players, coaches and parents.

Although there is a risk for head injuries in all sports, football’s higher rate of contact makes it the primary focus of the concussion protocol.
Rossford Head Coach Todd Drusback indicated that the rate of concussions in football has declined in recent years.
