MARY RUTH EMLONG
Mary Ruth Emlong, 89, of Toledo’s Point Place Community, went to be with the Lord and entered into eternal rest, joining her husband, on Monday, November 12, 2018.
She was born January 26, 1929, in Toledo, to Stanley and Lucille (Harder) Kruzel. She attended Woodward High School and married Raymond Emlong on May 8, 1948, and he became her loving husband of 70 years before preceding her in death on March 19, 2018.
Mary Ruth delighted in playing her Pick 3 lottery tickets and scratch off bingo, which became a fairly lucrative hobby. She also spent many hours playing her handheld solitaire and listening to her husband play music at different gatherings and supporting him in his motorcycle related activities.
She enjoyed spending time with family and dining at her favorite area restaurants. She worked for many years at Schmidt Meat Packing until they closed their doors; at that time she “retired.”
She also was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Point Place VFW #3265.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Ron) Mills; grandson, Mark (Ashley) Mills; grandson-in-law, Tom Leyman; seven great- grandchildren; two great-greatgranddaughters, and nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Tammy Leyman; three brothers, Donald, Stanley Jr., and Robert Kruzel, and sister, Betty Mae Lisk.
She had a special relationship with her greatniece, Paige, who called her every evening and visited when she could.
Visitation for family and friends was held from 4 to 7 p.m., on Sunday, November 18, at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 North Summit Street, Toledo, Ohio 43611.
Services took place in the Chapel of Memories in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, on Monday, November 19, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. David Cirata presiding.
