Frank Edwin Durfey
Frank Edwin Durfey, 81, of Erie, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Vibrant Life Hospice in Temperance. He was born on June 30, 1936, to Lorenzo “Bus” and Bernice (Salter) Durfey. Frank proudly served in his youth as a member of the United States Navy. He was employed at Buckeye Brewery from 1956 to 1972. He worked for Owens-Illinois from 1972 to 1987 and worked at Diversified from 1987 to 1991, then retired. Frank was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He also was a member of VFW Post #606, formerly #3265 of Point Place and Harbor Light Masonic Lodge. He loved sailing ever since he was a boy. He loved to be out on the water, fishing and NASCAR. Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years, Deanna (Webb) Durfey; children, Michael and Douglas Durfey, Patricia (Kent) Helm, and Susan (Larry) Braun; sister, Sharron Pinkley; brother, Jesse (Mary) Durfey; grandchildren, Michael (Erin) Durfey, Melissa Durfey, Matthew Braun, Harlie (Drew) Nevers, Lisa Helm, Cameron Braun, and Breanna Braun; greatgrandchildren, Kayden, Kendall and Deklan Durfey. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Lisa Marie. Memorial visitation, Masonic and VFW services were held Sunday, August 13, at the David R. Jasin- Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 North Summit Street, Toledo. A Memorial Service also was held at 7 p.m., with Father David Cirata officiating.
