Local family restores 19-year-old frog statue from Toledo art campaign to former glory
After swamping downtown for several years, Toledo’s popular art frogs have been hopping to new locations across and out of the city. This now includes the home of a family in Point Place/Shoreland.
Professor L.M.Fabian, a bookish-themed frog wearing glasses and reading the “History of Frogtown,” now resides on the front porch of the Schlachter family.
Kellie Schlachter originally purchased the frog in 2018. The statue had been sitting in the backyard of its then owner and “needed some major TLC,” she recalled.
Mrs. Schlachter planned to clean the frog and give it a new Ohio State theme.
