Rosemarie Webb Mapes
Rosemarie Webb Mapes, passed away on August 8, 2017, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was a longtime resident of Perrysburg. She was the daughter of Andrew and Blanche (Smith) Webb; born December 3, 1928, in Toledo. She attended Monclova High School and received her GED in 1978 at the age of 50. She married Leo R. Mapes on June 22, 1946, after he came home from World War II, at the historical Collingwood Presbyterian Church in Toledo. Rosemarie retired from The Divine Word Seminary, Perrysburg Township, in 1981. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Perrysburg. She was an avid Bingo fan, playing cards with her favorite being Bridge. She enjoyed attending the Perrysburg Senior Center. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, especially her rose garden for many years. She was involved with various bowling teams at the Everglades Bowling Center, Perrysburg, and read romance novels in her spare time. After retirement, she spent her summers at various lakes in Michigan and Indiana in an Airstream trailer and later years spent her winters in Cape Coral, Florida. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Oberhaus; son, Jeffery (Leah); grandchildren, Holly (Brad) Mc- Cormick, Marcus Monday, Braden, Avery, and Emerald Mapes; great-grandchildren, Brad, Hannah, Blake Mc- Cormick; sister, Dana (Robert) Seim; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years in 2011; brother, Andrew Jr.; son-in-law, Gary Oberhaus; grandson, Jeffery Mapes Jr., and her parents. Entombment is at Toledo Memorial Park, Chapel of Chimes Mausoleum. A graveside service was held August 11. The family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were made by the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel.
