Orlando Santiago, age 57 years, of Archbold, Ohio, passed away early Saturday morning, July 29, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. He was born February 12, 1960, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, the son of Ramon and Elida (Cortes) Santiago, and married Shelia Entenman on March 8, 1980. He was a resident of Archbold for 35 years before moving to Perrysburg, and Manitou Beach, Michigan. He worked at Sauder Woodworking for 30 years and most recently at Green Bay Packaging/ Archbold Container Corp. for the past 10 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at home, at the lake, or anywhere and anytime. He took great pride being grandpa/papa. He was a big Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, Pirates and Detroit Tigers and Michigan Wolverines fan. Other hobbies were fishing and hunting. Orlando took great pleasure in helping others in the area of church mission work, volunteering to help family, friends, neighbors and strangers. He did a lot of this voluntary work without anyone knowing because he never expected acknowledgement. He never met a stranger because he quickly made friends with anyone he met. He was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Church. He is survived by his wife, Shelia; two children, Chantilly (Jason) Kessler and Orlando Allen Santiago of Perrysburg; three granddaughters, Brionnah Wyse, Kopelyn Kessler and Kieradyn Kessler; parents, Ramon and Elida Santiago of Kissimmee, Florida; brothers, Ivan Santiago, Raymond (Belma) Santiago, and Luis (Miriam) Santiago, and sister, Anna (Moses) Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maribel Santiago, and nephew, Louie Santiago. Services will be held today, August 2, at 10:30 a.m., at the Archbold Evangelical Church with Pastors Jesse Kahler and Moses Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at the Archbold Cemetery. The family suggest that memorials be given to the American Cancer Society. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
