James A. “Jim” Wilch
James A. “Jim” Wilch, 77, of Perrysburg, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. James was formerly a longtime resident of Arlington, Ohio. James was born on December 29, 1940, and was the son of Lester A. and Floy M. Wilch of Jenera, Ohio. He was baptized in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jenera and remained a faithful member for his entire life. James attended Trinity Lutheran School in Jenera and graduated from Arlington High School in 1957. He worked as a machinist and welder for Ohio Conveyor and Supply Company for many years. James also enjoyed being a part-time farmer in rural Arlington. Both of his parents are deceased, but he is survived by two brothers, J. Wayne (Barbara) Wilch of Perrysburg, and Larry D. (Kathleen) Wilch of Taylors, South Carolina. He also was preceded in death by a sister- in-law, Ann Wilch. He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and their children, who fondly remember all the special times with their Uncle James. Jonathan (Beth) Wilch (children Lauren and Benjamin), Jennifer (Shane) Halcomb, Jeremy (Shea) Wilch (children Madelyn and Avery) and Joshua (Rachel) Wilch (children Caleb, Aaron and Sadie). Leslie McCallister (son Jake), Kerry Fuller (children Paul, Rebecca and Micah) and Adam (Sara) Wilch (children Lucy, Jack, Olivia and Ashley). Throughout his life, James enjoyed hobbies of farming, traveling and meeting new people. He never met a person who was not his friend. He will be dearly missed by all. Visitation was held Sunday, January 7, at Crates Funeral Home, Arlington. A funeral service was held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jenera on Monday, January 8, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jenera or to the Bluffton Area Relay for Hope (formerly Relay for Life).
