GLORIA GROSSKOPF

Gloria Rennick Grosskopf, 92, died peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018, in Pasadena, California. Gloria was born June 25, 1925, in Ashtabula, Ohio. After her family moved to Dearborn, Michigan, where Gloria graduated from high school, she attended Michigan State University and met her future husband, Jack Grosskopf, whom she married in 1947. After his graduation and a brief stint in South Dakota, the family moved to Toledo, where Jack worked for the Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Company in Rossford. Soon afterwards they moved to Perrysburg, where they resided for over 45 years. Gloria established a circle of close friends and involved herself heavily in Perrysburg city-wide activities, most notably the Welcome Wagon and All Thumbs Garden Club. She was among many other things antique dealer, decorator, fashionista, onetime elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Perrysburg and devoted chocoholic. Gloria loved to travel as a child with her family. She enjoyed her trips to Ashtabula to visit her parents, to Skaneateles to visit her sister Barbara at her summer cottage, and then later to Shawano, Wisconsin, to visit the Grosskopf relatives. Later she traveled to Europe and then many more trips and cruises followed with her friends and family. After Jack’s untimely death in 1996, she relocated to Pasadena, California. Gloria loved California where daughter Lisa lived. While in Pasadena, Gloria adored the visits and the many Christmases shared. She is survived by her six children, Shawna (Rolf) Grosskopf, Deby Dihoff, John (Pearl) Grosskopf III, Kurt (Cheryl) Grosskopf, Lisa Grosskopf and Tom “Chip” (Elizabeth) Grosskopf; two grandsons, Derek and Andrew Dihoff of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and great-grandson, Seneca. Friends were received on Sunday, April 8, at Witzler- Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, at First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Second Street, Perrysburg. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of  Gloria to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 225 North Michigan Avenue, 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601.
