David L. Cox, of Rossford, passed away on July 5, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born on March 14, 1938, and attended Nazareth Hall Military School and Campion Jesuit High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. While attending the University of Toledo, he met the love of his life, Pat. He proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard for six years. Dave spent 30 years of his career working for Coca- Cola. He finished his career with Superior Dairy and Fort Meigs Electric. Dave was a huge Detroit Tigers and Lions fan, an avid golfer and bowler, and reached his lifetime dreams of bowling a 300/perfect game and shooting a holein- one. He was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Dave was a family man, loyal friend and had a passion for people. He loved meeting his friends at his favorite restaurant, Rudy’s Hot Dog. Dave recently celebrated his 80th birthday with his second family and friends in Fort Myers, Florida, where he and Pat resided in the winter months. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pat (Siders); his four daughters, Lori (Jim) Cooke, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, C.C. (Rick) Hogan of Rossford, Kelley (Steve) Vormelker of Orwell, Ohio, and Kathy (Mark) Kolanko of Perrysburg. Also surviving are his 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Kevin (Jane); sister, Rosemary (Bob) Kamenca, and sister-in-law, Carole Jones. Dave is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jesse and Dennis, and his grandson, Chad. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 8, at Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Road. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Dave’s life was held on Monday, July 9, at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Road, Rossford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dave’s name to All Saints Catholic Church or Akron Hope, a nonprofit founded in his grandson Chad’s honor at 390 N.
