Country Garden Club presents check to Spafford House Museum for landscaping
The Perrysburg Area Historic Museum (PAHM)–Spafford House Museum–recently added signage and landscaping to its grounds, 27340 West River Road, courtesy of the Perrysburg Country Garden Club (CGC). Last week, the club presented a check for $16,000 funding the exterior plantings, landscaping and enhancements to improve the curb appeal of the historic site.
“This donation is in keeping with the Garden Club’s continuing goals of preservation, conservation and beautification of the Maumee Valley,” said Sherie Robarge, club community projects chairperson. “Funding for phase one of this project was made possible through monies raised during the Country Garden Club’s annual Trunk Show.”
The Country Garden Club was founded in 1932 by a group of women from northwest Ohio who wished to translate their ideas into public action. The club currently has more than 100 members and is a member of the Garden Club of America sharing its mission “to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening, to share the advantages of association by means of educational meetings, conferences, correspondence, publications, and to restore, improve, and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvement.”
