On Thursday, December 14, 2017, Alex Jeffrey Holbrook, Acclaimed International Man of Leisure, aged 34, of Palm Harbor, Florida (formerly of Perrysburg) suddenly passed away. A stand-up comedian who performed with touring sketch comedy group Robot Johnson in Charlotte, North Carolina, was also a twotime Charlotte Ice Cream Eating Champion (consuming a staggering four pints in three minutes), was a diehard Ohio State football fan, as well as the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He appeared as a model in advertising materials for The Pink Shell Beach and Bay Resort in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, as a young man. He won the IWA World Title during a grueling “Newel Post” over Dan English in 1997. A master Seinfeld trivia expert, he also was a rabid fan of “The Sopranos.” He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine, and grandmother, Ethel Crowder, both of Perrysburg. He is survived by his father, Jody, of Sarasota, Florida; brother Bryan, of Palm Harbor, Florida, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends throughout the USA. The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover expenses if you would care to donate.
