Perrysburg Schools superintendent presents bipartisan initiative to assure school funding

“the Cupp-patterson Approach Is Different: It Is Transparent, It Is Being Coordinated By Legislators And It Is Being Crafted By Ohio-based Expertise.”

At its monthly meeting January 22, the Perrysburg School Board approved various contractual measures and heard a presentation from Superintendent Tom Hosler about the committee he is working with to assure the district is doing everything possible to secure school funding.

“Politically, we live in unprecedented times. As a nation, we are as divided as we have ever been,” Superintendent Hosler said.

“In the past, in Ohio, school funding has also been divisive. So, when a representative of two prominent legislators, Representative Bob Cupp, a Republican, and Representative John Patterson, a Democrat, called eight currently practicing superintendents and treasurers to join a non-partisan work group to help them develop a comprehensive, new school funding formula, one guided by the needs of Ohio’s youth and the professional knowledge of Ohio educators, none of the 16 could say no.
