Twp. trustees approve fire truck purchase
An aging truck will be replaced this year by the Springfield Township fire department.
At the February 20 meeting, the trustees approved the purchase of a 2018 pumper from Sutphen Corporation of Amlin, Ohio for $354,605.
Fire Chief Barry Cousino said the fire truck will replace a 1996 unit acquired from Holland when Springfield took over servicing the village nearly 12 years ago.
Delivery of the new engine is expected to occur in late 2018 or early 2019. When it is delivered, a second 1996 truck will be taken out of full service and become a backup, the chief noted.
